John Gasdaska to Receive Abingdon Theatre’s Inaugural Beacon Award

Honoring a Commitment to New Work
BroadwayWorld announced that GVC co-founder John Gasdaska will receive Abingdon Theatre Company’s inaugural Beacon Award at the company’s 34th Anniversary Gala. A longtime member of Abingdon’s board, John is being recognized for his steadfast commitment to championing new work for the stage.
He will be honored alongside three-time Tony Award nominee Sandy Duncan and two-time Emmy Award nominee Michael Urie. The gala kicks off Abingdon’s 34th season, “Ever Forward, Ever Evolving.”
The Evening
The gala takes place Monday, November 2, 2026, beginning at 6PM at the Edison Ballroom, 240 West 47th Street in New York. The evening includes cocktails, dinner, a mission-based auction, and a live performance featuring artists from Off-Broadway to Broadway, directed by Chad Austin with music direction by Robbie Cowan.
