Remembering Sharon Baum, Strategic Partner and Luxury Real Estate Icon

The Real Deal

A Legacy in Manhattan Luxury Real Estate

The Real Deal reported the passing of Sharon Baum at the age of 85. A strategic partner of the GVC Real Estate Team, Sharon spent more than three decades as one of the most accomplished brokers in New York City, beginning her career at The Corcoran Group in 1991 before joining Douglas Elliman.

Across her career she brokered roughly $2 billion in luxury townhouses and apartments in many of Manhattan’s most exclusive buildings. In 2011 the Real Estate Board of New York presented her with the Henry Forster Award, the residential industry’s highest honor, and she was a two-time REBNY “Deal of the Year” winner.

Her standards, her judgment, and her generosity with those coming up behind her shaped how our team approaches this business. She will be deeply missed.
